As Director of Media Programs at the Center for Peace and Human Security, I organized and promoted a large-scale, multi-venue New York media festival, including curating numerous public events, panels and film screenings about conflict transformation, human rights, and international justice. I have also provided the host venue and curated programming for independent journalists and media organizations during an RNC, including the Indypendent and Paper Tiger productions, Naomi Klein and Amy Goodman. As executive director of mid-scale cultural institutions, my work also entailed organizing numerous mid- and large-scale events both in New York and internationally. As an event organizer, I perform various functions, including communicating with the client or host institution to understand their goals, needs, and special requests in order to plan and organize events from concept to finish in accordance with their preferences. I also oversee the budget, select locations and venues, and book, prepare, and arrange them for the event. I design and layout programming agendas, create event guides, organize ticketing, oversee the design of marketing materials and activities to promote the event traditionally and digitally, with the assistance of PR professionals or marketing executives. I hire key volunteers and manage staff, as well as special guest appearances, MCs, and talent.
