GIGANTIC ARTSPACE (GAS)

As Founding Executive Director of GAS, I established a prestigious Manhattan exhibition venue producing contemporary exhibition, music, performance, films, CDs, DVDs, Books and catalogues. I crafted the mission, curated exhibitions, happenings, screenings and large public events. I managed staff and oversaw the budget. As the public face of organization, I designed press, media, and donor events, represented GAS at international exhibitions and art fairs, supervised installation and publication design and supported other curatorial visions. I also supervised the renovation and launch of the space and advised on technical design of complex media exhibits. In addition, I expanded collaborations between Gigantic sister brands, including the Gigantic music label, and other arts publications, including DAP and Plexifilm. The work shown at GAS often explored contemporary socio-environmental or political issues.

CENTER FOR CONTEMPORARY ARTS (CCA), SANTA FE

As Executive Director, I rebranded CCA as a socially engaged venue for the production of relevant environmentally focused cultural expression. I oversaw operations, staff, budget, fundraising, grant writing and annual reports. This large cultural organization included a 127-seat cinema, 5,000 m2 museum, moving image lab, project gallery, mobile media lab and educational outreach program and international residency program. I developed educational programing, curated exhibitions, designed statewide outreach projects, instituted a residency program, and worked closely with the Minister for Culture and the New Mexico state legislature. I optimized organizational efficiency, reduced and balanced a $1.2 million operating budget, and substantially reduced a high legacy debt. As the public face of the organization I interfaced with press, cultivated donors, and gave presentations at all public and private events.
