As a content creator for Bifrost, I develop copy, create social media campaigns, and produce and curate material for the online platform, including infographics, maps, science videos, data visualizations, podcasts, presentations, image galleries, footprint calculators, scientific reports, open learning MOOCs, SDG trackers and climate toolkits. I also oversee the design and layout of all online materials, including visual and media translations of targeted research projects. Additionally, I participate in international field research, co-organize international conferences, lead writing workshops and write feature articles.
Lead of the Communications Working Group for the Building Resilience in Defense of Global Environments and Societies (BRIDGES) group, an emerging international sustainability science coalition harmonious with UNESCO’s Guidelines for Sustainability Science in Research and Education and closely affiliated with UNESCO’s Management of Social Transformation program. The project’s goal is to integrate humanity-led efforts into sustainability sciences, to grow and disseminate best practices, and to raise the consciousness of how human-centered actions can add value to transdisciplinary sustainability science collaborations through experimental and evidence-based means for the purpose of making the sustainability sciences paradigm more robust. In 2018 in Sigtuna, and 2019 at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris, I attended a series of international workshops in order to help craft principles for developing the program’s communications architecture.
I am a communications design consultant for the Peace & Justice Studies Association, for which I have co-developed a complex and robust online presence that includes several databases, information directories, infographics, an e-commerce presence, and an e-zine. The project requires coordination between media platforms, sites and events to develop strong social engagement strategies that allows the organization to remain in constant contact with their membership base by advancing institutional and member interests and responding to feedback in a seamless cycle.
